  1. Tara,
This is great. I like how you included the instructions below the video. The demonstration looks really good. You made me think of ways of how to demonstrate or model things in my classroom through the use of videos. I think this is a great idea especially for students with limited vocabulary.

  3. Tara,
This was such a great idea for a video. I think the music you chose really suited the pace of the video and the fun subject matter. And I love the way you incorporated the text to guide us through what the kids were doing. The movement and the movement of the music really makes it a fun video to watch. It totally looks like one of those Sesame Street videos!

  4. Hi Tara,

You did a great job with this video! From the title of your post, you're clearly proud of the work you've done here -- as you should be! I agree with Kash, this could definitely be a Sesame Street video :)

Was the process difficult at all? Since it was your first edited video, I am curious of how it went versus the expectations (or fears) you had going into the process.

    Nicely done!

    1. Sesame Street was actually the very thing I was going for, Yay! I found this to be MORE difficult than I had thought, however I think that was due to some assumptions I made about how the software would work and the restrictions of the project. There was some great audio that I was hoping to use in the video but since we couldn't, I added the quotes as text. The music was a challenge but I feel that I found just the right piece.

I have used audio edited software before and if you wish to delete a section you can simply highlight it and delete it. I was hoping it would work the same with the video but it didnt so I had some troubles figuring out how to snip out the parts that I didnt want.

Thank goodness for the ability to speed up the video! I found that to be the most useful tool for this project since I really wanted to capture the back and forth of the two girls but it was too long.

This was my first but I feel that it will not be my last. Without any type of restrictions, I think I would love to edit personal videos. I take lots of videos of events and vacations but they just sit there. When I want to show them to someone I have to click each video - some 30 seconds, some 5 minutes and I have to FF through boring parts and verbally tell them the story over and over. I think I will start using this software to create little movies of my videos.

2.5 hours it took to creat 60 seconds! But I think it was a success both in the outcome and the knowledge to use in the future.

  5. Quite amazing! I didn't know you could speed up the video like that, which worked really well for a 60-second video showing construction of toys. The music fits perfectly with this as well. Thanks for sharing!
